What We Do

The goal of Hibernia Travel is to enrich your educational experience in Ireland so you leave the country with a deeper understanding of its people, history, culture and landscape.

We do this by developing an itinerary that speaks to your interests, the duration you would like to spend in Ireland, the extent to which you would like to explore cities/towns and the countryside, and taking into account your mobility and other medical considerations. You can travel with a larger group (no more than 20 in total) or select a more personal option for just you and your family/friends.

Hibernia Travel works with professional travel companies (as needed) such as Cultured Travel to ensure the best quality service. We will book your hotels, arrange for in-country travel, including professional bus and car services, and include some meals. The most important part of the Hibernia Travel experience, and that which distinguishes us from other trip organizers, will be the provision of detailed background information - historical, cultural, political and geographic- relating to where you will visit and what you will see. This means that when you arrive at a particular site, you will already understand its importance to the particular itinerary. You will then be better able to appreciate what you are seeing and hearing about the site.

Importantly, we will arrange for local experts to provide background information either at sites or in the evenings, and I will be with you all on all parts of the itinerary. Also, I will meet with you in person or by Zoom well in advance of the trip to discuss any travel details, answer questions, and provide context for the trip, especially in relation to Irish history, politics and culture. I will also be happy to provide additional information on places to see if you decide to extend your visit in Ireland at the end of the itinerary.
